Getting Started

Your Photo Project Begins Here

Your Initial Project Meeting is the first step in creating a personalized plan for your photo organizing, digitizing, preservation, album, or wall art project.

This in-home visit is focused on assessment and strategy. Together, we'll review your materials, discuss your goals, and determine the most effective path forward. Hands-on project work typically begins after this planning phase.

Before Your Meeting

To help make the most of our time together, please gather any items related to the project in one central area of your home whenever possible. Items may include:

• Printed photographs
• Slides, negatives, and memorabilia
• VHS tapes, film reels, DVDs, and other media
• Computers, phones, tablets, and external hard drives
• Photo books or albums

Please do not spend time sorting or organizing materials beforehand. Seeing your collection in its current state helps me better assess the project and recommend the most efficient approach.

During the Meeting

During our visit, we will:

• Discuss your goals and priorities
• Review your photos, media, and related materials
• Identify challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions
• Determine project scope and estimated timelines
• Answer questions and discuss available services

Most meetings last between one and two hours, depending on the complexity of the project.

After the Meeting

Following our meeting, you'll receive personalized recommendations and, when applicable, a detailed project estimate outlining the recommended next steps.

Projects may include:

• Digital photo organization
• Photo scanning and digitization
• Home movie and media conversion
• Photo preservation and archiving
• Album design and creation
• Wall art and display planning
• Legacy and family history projects

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to organize everything before the meeting?

No. In fact, it's often more helpful if you don't. Part of the assessment process is understanding how your materials are currently stored and identifying the best way to approach the project. Removing photos from original envelopes or albums can make organization more challenging.

What if my materials are in multiple locations?

That's perfectly fine. We'll discuss what you have and determine the best strategy for bringing everything together.

Will work begin during this meeting?

The Initial Project Meeting is primarily focused on planning and assessment. Most hands-on work begins after the project plan and estimate have been approved.

What if I'm not sure exactly what I want?

That's very common. Part of my role is helping you identify priorities and develop a realistic plan that fits your goals, timeline, and budget.

I look forward to helping you preserve, organize, and enjoy your memories.
